ERIN CARPENTER| Playwright

Erin Carpenter writes fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry, and Poor Man’s Supper is her first play. Her work has appeared in The Sun Magazine (Readers Write), The New York Times (Tiny Love Stories) and North Carolina Literary Review. Her writing is inspired in part by teaching on the Qualla Boundary, and her novel-in-progress explores mother/daughter relationships and the role of the military spouse.

DAPHNE MINTZ | PLAYWRIGHT

Daphne Mintz is thrilled to come aboard as playwright for the third season of the Calliope Shorts. Since she arrived in town a few years back, Calliope Stage has provided amazing opportunities, including inviting her to be a dramaturg in the first and second seasons of the Calliope Shorts, producing workshop labs for her plays-in-progress, and producing a public reading of her plays Junk 2 Junk and Her Last Expedition.

micah patt | DIRECTOR

Micah Patt (she/her) is an Atlanta-based theatre artist & voice teacher. She earned her M.M. in Voice Pedagogy from Syracuse University and B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Western Carolina University. Some of her favorite past directing projects include She Kills Monsters (Evergreen Theatre Collective), The Lacy Project (Waterside Theatre), As You Like It (The Vagrancy), Much Ado About Nothing (Contemporary Classics), and Exit, Pursued by a Bear (Contemporary Classics). She is thrilled to return to WNC to direct for Calliope Stage for her second season!

Sara Freeman | HARPER

Sara returned to theater last year after stopping nearly 25 years ago. She is married to Scott and has four sons, Gideon, Corbin, Linus and Maurice. Most recently, she performed in "Alice in Wonderland," "Wizard of Oz" and "Bye Bye Birdie" with Overlook Theater Company. “The best part about theater is the way it brings us all together and helps us connect as friends and neighbors. I am so happy to be a part of this project.”

Georjia Grace Girty | Taleeah

Georjia Grace has been participating in dance recreationally & competition since she was 3 years old. She has performed in her school’s musical theater productions this past school year. She was also Little Miss Cherokee 2019-2021 where she performed a comedy routine for her talent.
