Comedy Night at Calliope Stage is a lively evening of unscripted improv comedy right in the heart of Sylva! Each month a team of talented local and guest improvisers take the stage to create hilarious scenes, characters, and stories completely on the spot—often inspired by suggestions (and sometimes participation!) from the audience. Bring your Sylva Social District cup, settle in with friends, and enjoy a night full of big laughs and unexpected moments. With shows designed for both all-ages audiences and a 14+ crowd, Comedy Nights are a fun, relaxed way to experience live theatre and connect with the community.
-
Calliope Stage Comedy Nights now include two types of performances:
All-Ages Shows and 14+ Shows. Our All-Ages performances are family-friendly and designed so audiences of many ages can enjoy the humor together - a great weekend event out for families. Come for the show and stay downtown for dinner!
Our 14+ shows may include more mature themes or language and are generally suitable for ages 14 and up. Each event listing will clearly note the intended audience so you can choose the show that’s the best fit for you and your group.

Comedy Nights at Calliope Stage use a “Roll the Dice” pay-what-you-can ticket model. When you arrive, you’ll roll two dice to determine your suggested ticket donation. Feel free to pay the amount you roll, pay less if you need the show to be more accessible, or pay more if you’re feeling like a generous supporter of the arts. We accepts cash or Venmo at the door.
Calliope Stage is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations from Comedy Nights help us cover rental rates for our Sylva space and support future artistic and educational programming in our community.
-
